Materials We Use

Handmade Furniture in Orange County made with quality Materials

Upholstery

Our standard upholstery fabrics are made from hemp. They are durable and soften with use, however, they are not sealed and can stain over time if not properly cared for. For more durable, performance fabrics, please see below for a list of our available performance fabrics.

We can use COM fabrics. To specify a COM fabric, please send us an email at hello@abregodesign.com so we can verify it will work for your product. Any COM fabrics will be shipped to our warehouse, 33041 Calle Aviador, Ste C, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675,

Our fabrics are always expanding, so be sure to check back or reach out if you're looking for a specific color, design or material.

Wood

Our standard materials are Ash, White Oak and Walnut sourced sustainably from the US. All our finishes are sealed with a VOC free finish. They have a very subtle, almost matte sheen. Like all wood, they need to be taken care of. Wipe with a damp cloth only and do not use harsh chemicals. Wipe up spills immediately.  The finish may dull overtime and with heavy use. A maintenance oil or wax can be reapplied to make your piece more vibrant again. See our Care and Maintenance page for more information.

Upholstery Frames

Our frames are made using a combination of alder and plywood. We utilize as much of our cutoffs as possible so sometimes we might mix in smaller chunks of hardwood that we cant use for other pieces

Filling

Our cushions are filled with Dacron wrapped high density foam. When it comes to sustainability, while this is a poly-fill, it is the most durable and will hold up the longest. We also have trillium fill as an upgrade and premium organic latex foam (we only recommend this for seats and cushions, not on any of our upholstered beds). For a more natural fill, we have hemp/laytex foam and cotton batting (not recommended with white fabrics due to natural staining of cotton batting materials).
